PELLA — Eleanor M. Denton, 96, of Pella died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe, with burial following at Dunreath Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Edward and Margit (Frost) Thompson, Eleanor was born on January 15, 1912, in Chicago, Illinois. On September 23, 1930, Eleanor was united in marriage to Norman N. Denton, Jr. in Waukegan, Wisconsin. Eleanor lived most of her life in Chicago, moving to Pella in 1999.
Those left to honor her memory are her children; Joanne D. Junod of Greenville, Illinois, Margo D. Waddle of Monroe, and Lee Denton, III of Dana Point, California; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Norman in 1965; a sister, Alice Toussaint and a brother, Edward Thompson. Mom accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age. Mom was in happy fellowship with those gathered unto the name of our Lord Jesus Christ at 1812 Washington Street in Pella, Iowa.
