LOUIS A. DARRAH DIES SUNDAY; RITES WEDNESDAY

Louis Alvin Darrah, 69, of 2702 1st Ave. W., a resident of Newton for 45 years, died Sunday afternoon at the Embassy Manor Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

Father Edward Susic of Pella will conduct services. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 7 o'clock this evening.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 o'clock Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Bernice; two sons, Louis R. of Newton and Duane A. of Defiance, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Wendell (Jean) Holmes and Mrs. Gloria Daughtrey, both of Newton, and Mrs. Angel (Darlene) Acuna of Tucson, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was precederd in death by his parents, a sister and a grandson.

Mr. Darrah, a member of the Maytag 25 Year Club, retired from the Maytag Co. in 1970.

The son of Milo Louis and Mary Ellen Temple Darrah, he was born Aug. 10, 1908 in Gosport and attended Knoxville schools.

He was married to Bernice J. Schmitz Mar. 31, 1929 at Waterloo.
