OBITUARY

G. DEHOET, 56 DIES TODAY

Garrett DeHoet, 56, Jasper county farmer, died at his home four miles northeast of Newton at 1:30 a.m. today.

He was born near Pella, Ia. on Nov. 19, 1885 and was united in marrige Oct. 30, 1926. The greater part of his life was spent on a farm and for the past four years he and his wife have resided on a farm southeast of Newton. He was a member of the First Reform Church of Pella.

Surviving are his wife, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garrett DeHoet, of Monroe, a brother Ira of Monroe and a sister, Mrs. John Farmer of Oregon.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Murdock Funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 with the Rev. Benjamin Spalink, pastor of the Newton Christian Reform church officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
