MRS. MARY DEHOOT DIES HERE SUNDAY

Monroe (Special) -- Mrs. Mary DeHoot, 86, who lived most of her life in and around Monroe, died Sunday morning at the home of her son, Ira, in Newton. She had been in failing health for the past six months.

Born near Pella July 4, 1867, she was married to Gerrett DeHoot in 1884. The couple had four children, two of whom are surviving. Mr. DeHoot, a farmer, preceded his wife in death, as did two sons, John and Gerritt.

Surviving children are Ira, Newton; and Mrs. Clara Farmer, Corvallis, Ore. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Crumpacker funeral home at Monroe. Burial will be in the Monroe cemetery.

Mrs. DeHoot was a member of the Methodist church.
