BESSIE CHURCHILL DIES SATURDAY; RITES TUESDAY

Mrs. Harvey (Bessie May) Churchill, 87, of 604 N. 3rd Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1930, died Saturday morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Graveside rites will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

The Rev. James Conger, pastor of the Newton First Baptist Church will conduct the services.

Friends may call at the Johnson Funeral Chapel.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Norma Gifford of Grinnell; a sister, Mrs. Pearle Kracht of Kasson, Minn., and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 1969.

Mrs. Churchill was a former nursing home operator.

The daughter of George and Nancy Houck Farmer, she was born June 16, 1886 in Marion County.
