NICODEMUS, HARTER, GRAY, AUTRY, WASSON

04-19-1923 Newton Daily Herald - Funeral services for Marion Hamilton Nicodemus were held yesterday afternoon under direction of the IOOF Lodge at 3:30 at the Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev W M Brook in charge.

Mr. Nicodemus was one of the well known men of the county. He was especially well known in lodge circles, having for years been a prominent and active member of the IOOF. He was born on a farm four miles out of Colfax and with the exception of occasional trips had always made this city is home. Mr. Nicodemus was taken seriously ill with pneumonia Saturday and died Monday morning. He had been ailing for some time but his condition wasn't considered serious. He spent the winter in California, returning to Colfax March 10.

Mr. Nicodemus leaves four brothers: Anderson of Oklahoma; William A of Des Moines; Ben of Sac City; and J H of Colfax; and two sisters: Mrs. J J Harter of Sac City; and Mrs. Ella Gray of Colorado Springs. All of his brothers and one sister Mrs. Harter, were present for the funeral services. Others present were Mrs. Ben Nicodemus and son of Sac City, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Grey of Newton, and Mr. and Mrs. Ora Autry and daughter of Des Moines, and Mrs. Glenn Wasson and daughter of Des Moines.
