April 2, 1897 Wednesday Newton Daily Herald - MRS. JACOB NICODEMUS - Mrs. Nicodemus died Friday morning after a long and painful illness.

04-02-1897 Colfax Clipper Friday p4 - Mrs. Jacob Nicodemus, died at 5 a.m. today, at the family residence in the south part of town, at the advanced age of 75 years and 23 days. Her malady seems to be only old age. She did not suffer and her death was like sinking to natural slumber. Arrangements are being made to hold the obsequies from the Methodist Episcopal Church about 2 p.m. next Sunday and interment will be at McKeever graveyard in Poweshiek township.
