01-24-1903 page 1 Colfax Clipper - Jacob Nicodemus, for 52 years a resident of Poweshieck township, died at 5:20 p.m. last Saturday, at the old farm home, he had built, (now occupied by his son I H) at the age of 80 years. He leaves a family of 5 sons and two daughters, all who were present at his obsequies except his son, Anderson, of Oklahoma, and his daughter Mrs. F L Gray of Deep Water, Missouri. His death resulted from brights disease, and his illness was only of one month duration. He suffered very little and his passing away was like an infant going to sleep. The funeral was from the home last Monday morning at 11:00, and was conducted by Rev Stahl. The attendance of neighbors and friends was large, and the procession that followed his remains to their last resting place in McKeever cemetery bore testimony to the esteem in which the deceased was held by his neighbors. The children desire us to express their sincere thanks to friends who evinced such sympathy and showered them with acts of kindness in their bereavement.
