Baxter — Thomas J. “Tom” Schroyer, 68, of Baxter died on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., today, Monday, Sept. 29, at the funeral home.

Thomas J. Schroyer - April 05, 1940 - September 25, 2008
Those left to honor Tom's memory include his wife, Becky; grandson, Wade Lintz of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Chris (Tammy) Schroyer of Baxter; two sisters, Mary Ann (Don) Versteegh of Newton, Roberta “Bobbie" Schroyer and friend, Gary Horn of Newton; and his several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Louie and Marjory M. (Dawson) Schroyer; son, Danny in infancy; daughter Deonne Schroyer Lintz in 2006.
Tom served his country in the U. S. Army.
Tom was a graduate of Baxter High School in 1959.
Tom was a he was a member of the Ira United Church in Ira. He enjoyed retirement, his family and friends.
