COLFAX — Karen Lorene Lewis, 65, of Colfax died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church, with burial following at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Jasper County and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of George Raymond and Vivian (Rushton) Renfro, Karen was born on Oct. 29, 1942, in Mount Vernon, Mo. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1960. On March 22, 1961, she was united in marriage to Russell Lewis in Colfax.
Karen worked as a screen printer at Vernon Company in Newton for 18 years, retiring in 2005. She was also a member of the UAW Local 997.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 47 years, Russell of Colfax; her three children, Jeff (Leona) Lewis of Baxter, Jamie (Michelle) Lewis and Justin Lewis, all of Colfax; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, parents and a brother, Ray Renfro.
