CORALVILLE — Rae Ellen Griffin, 85 formerly of Newton, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Windmill Manor Care Center in Coralville.
Rae Ellen Francis was born July 12, 1923, in Louisville, Ky. She was united in marriage to Richard A. Griffin on Oct. 24, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple lived in Newton for many years where they raised their family and where she was a member of the First Congregational Church.
Her family includes two sons and their wives, James and Sharon Griffin of Unionville, Mo., and Robert and Laurie Griffin of West Des Moines and three grandchildren, Linsey, Chase and Jack.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard.
Private family services have been held, with burial at the Union Cemetery in Newton.
