Kellogg – Lloyd L. Fults, 79, passed away on Sept. 16, 2008. His wishes were to be cremated with private services. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
Lloyd was born on Aug. 14, 1929, to Josephine and Theron Fults in Palmer, Tenn.
He was a United States veteran of the Korean Conflict. After his service with the Army, he met and married Juanita Escobedo on April 8, 1971, in Newton. They lived in Newton until moving to an acreage in rural Kellogg in 1986. Lloyd worked at Winpower for 21 years and Maytag Corporation retiring from Maytag in 1994. He enjoyed bluegrass music and spending time outdoors with his family, especially hunting and camping for many years at the Amboy Trail Ranch.
He will be missed by his wife of 36 years, Juanita; their four children, Trinity (Tyler) Edwards of Newton, Patricia (Dan) Hosler of Kellogg, Brenda Scaletta of Van Meter and John Fults of Kellogg; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Joe Willard (Emma Jean) Fults of Coalmont, Tenn., Ed (Kathy) Fults of Cedar Rapids, Hughy (Donna) Fults of Troy Mills, Robert “Skip” (Karen) Fults of Coralville and Bruce (Donetta) Fults of Ottumwa; and a sister, Anna (Bill) Britton of Universal City, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene and Marvin; and sister, Brenda Britton.
Memorials in Lloyd’s name may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton where local arrangements are being handled.
