Alice D. Kuehl Stoelk, 87, a resident of Newton for three years and former longtime resident of Davenport, died Sunday, Jan. 7, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Cremation was held.

Survivors are her husband, Arnold; a daughter, Jeanne Bridenstine of Newton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stoelk, a homemaker, had worked for a number of years for Younkers Inc.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Davenport.

The daughter of Gustave and Wilhelmina Kuehl, she was born Nov. 5, 1902 in Davenport and was graduated from Davenport High School. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1989
