Hannah L. Snook Dies Saturday; Services Today

Mrs. George (Hannah L.) Snook, 92, of Newton, who resided on a farm northeast of Newton from 1939 until moving to Heritage Manor Care Center, died Saturday at the Center.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Douglas Maden, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church in Monroe, conducted services. Burial was in the Palo Alto Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Heritage Manor Activities Fund will be accepted.

Survivors are three sons, Myron, William and Clifford, all of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Thelma) Hesson of Baxter and Mrs. Laurel (Margaret) Van Baale of Monroe; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, six step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1963, a son, Darold, two brothers, six sisters and an infant granddaughter.

The daughter of Luke and Margaret Huigen Annyas, she was born Dec. 30, 1885 in Marion County.

She was married Dec. 10, 1907 in Marshalltown. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1978
