Henry Wulf, Long Kellogg Resident, Dies at His Home

KELLOGG (Special) - Henry Wulf, 83, native of Germany and longtime resident of the Kellogg area, died at his home here shortly after 12 noon Friday. A doctor, who had visited him earlier in the day, said that death was probably due to a heart attack.

Mr. Wulf was a retired town marshal. Ne had spent most of his life farming, although he worked several years at the One Minute Washer Co. in Kellogg.

Born in Germany, Feb. 4, 1870, he was the son of Detlef and Anna Wulf. He came to the United States when he was 15 years old, and settled in the Kellogg area where he spent the remainder of his life.

Mr. Wulf was married in 1893 to Margaret Singerob. She died many years ago, and he then married Clara Hill Bobzin. She also preceded him in death in 1943.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Anna) Gross of Newton; a brother, Carl Wulf, Chicago; and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Schultz and Miss Lena Wulf, both of Chicago. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Wulf, was a longtime member of the Elks lodge in Newton and a member of the Lutheran church in Kellogg.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's American Lutheran Church at Kellogg. The Rev. Carlton F. Rohr will officiate and Johnson-Murdoch funeral home will be in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery at Kellogg.

Mr. Wulf's body will be taken to Johnson-Murdoch funeral home in Kellogg at 4 p.m. Sunday where it will lie in state until the morning of the service. ~ The Newton (IA)) Daily News, May 1953
