Lloyd F. Bruns

Lloyd F. Bruns, 74, of 1105 E. 12th St. S., a resident of Newton since August, 1991, died Thursday evening, July 22, at Skiff Medical Center following a heart attack.

Funeral services will e held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday and visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Leanora; three step-sons, Carl F. Stam of Omaha, Neb., Larry M. Stam of Phoenix, Ariz., and Cornelius R. Stam of Las Vegas, Nev.; a step-daughter, Clara J. Ryken of Denver, Colo.; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gordon, who died during World War II.

Mrs. Bruns, a retired self-employed businessman, was a member of the Pella Calvary Christian Reformed Church and the Sigourney Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

He was born June 21, 1919 in Sigourney and was graduated from Sigourney Community High School.

He was married to Leanora Snelser Dec. 12, 1978 in Oskaloosa.

Mr. Bruns had lived in Pella for 15 years prior to coming to Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1993
