Norma Jean Sharp, 67, of Grinnell died July 27, 2007, at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sharp will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Grinnell United Methodist Church in Grinnell. A private family burial will be Wednesday morning at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in rural Jasper County.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Newburg-Chester Congregational Church or Grinnell Regional Hospice.

The daughter of Harold E. and Lucille Bacon McCulloch, she was born Jan. 31, 1940, in Grinnell. She was raised in the Newburg area and was a 1958 graduate of Newburg High School and then attended Iowa State University for a year.

On Aug. 23, 1959, she was married to Delmar Eugene Sharp, at the Newburg Congregational Church. The couple farmed in the Newburg area and she was also employed in management at G.T.E in Grinnell for 27 years. She retired on June 1, 1999.

She was a member of the Newburg-Chester Congregational Church, where she was active with the Women’s Fellowship, Women’s Bible Study, and church choir. She was also a member of the Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC) Auxiliary and a hospital volunteer.

Survivors include her husband, Delmar of Grinnell; three children, Scott (Lisa) of Grinnell, Curt (Linda) of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Tracy (Jeff) Fort of Blair, Neb.; one sister, Phyllis Emmert of Grinnell; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan, Lauren, and Regan Sharp of Grinnell and Travis (Rachelle) Bodigon, and Matthew and Madison Sharp of Ft. Wayne, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
