Arlene A. Paulson , 87, of Newton died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at her home in Newton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kellogg Christian Church in Kellogg with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at the Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

The daughter of Ralph W and Mabel E. (Johnson) McConeghey, she was born July 24, 1920, in Newton. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. She was united in marriage with Robert H. Paulson on Nov. 10, 1942, in Bethany, Mo.

She was a high school graduate and had taken some college courses. She taught at rural schools and was a para-professional at Aurora Heights School in Newton. She was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church, the Kellogg Historical Society and served on committees for Progress Industries. She enjoyed country music and traveling.

Survivors include her two daughters, Marilyn Paulson and Jo Ann Paulson, both of Newton and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, in 2000; one brother, Robert W. McConeghey; three sisters, Avonel McConeghey, Lillian McKeeman and Murial Royce; and her dog, Teeny.
