COLFAX — Robert G. Owen, 72, of Colfax died Sept. 28, 2007, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 2, 2007, at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with burial following at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Robert G. Owen Memorial Fund.

The son of Charles and Mary Helen (McNeer) Owen, Robert was born on March 9, 1935, in Valeria. Following high school, Robert entered the United States Army.

On April 27, 1974, he was united in marriage to Rosemary Foster. A lifelong resident of the area, Robert worked at Maytag for 35 years. He retired in 1991. Robert was a member of the UAW Local 997.

Those left to honor his memory are, his wife of 33 years, Rosemary of Colfax; his children, Charlie (Daphne) Owen of Colfax, Tonya (Jim) Perkins of Provo, Utah, and Eric (Natalie) Owen of Prairie City; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara (Ron) Jarnagin of Des Moines and Virginia Wood of Monroe.

Preceding Robert in death were his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
