NORWALK — Connie Ashby Nelson, 63, died at her home on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, following a lingering illness.

A memorial gathering will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Des Moines. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 at the Kellogg Christian Church in Kellogg. A coffee fellowship will be at the church following the service. Private interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery in Lynnville at a later date.

Constance Delores Ashby Nelson was born May 11, 1945, in Newton. She was the daughter of Stanley and Barbara Ashby. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1963 and moved to Des Moines in 1966. Connie worked at the Embassy Club in Des Moines for 32 years. In 1974, she married Ronald Nelson in Las Vegas, Nev.

Connie is survived by her husband Ron; her son, Casey; her parents, Stanley and Barbara Ashby of Kellogg; and her brother, Larry (Roxie) Ashby of Newton.

Memorials may be directed to the Kellogg Christian Church in Kellogg or Hospice of Central Iowa.
