KELLOGG — Jerry Morris, 78, of Kellogg died July 27, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

A private family graveside service will be held with the Rev. Mike Johnson of the Carlisle Christian Church in Carlisle. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

The son of Alvertus C. and Lela May (Reichelt) Morris, he was born March 30, 1929, in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Kellogg and a 1946 Newton High School graduate. He served his county in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954.

He was a lifelong farmer in the rural Kellogg area and was a member of the Kellogg American Legion and a past member of the Newton Elks.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Morris of Newton and Jack (Lindy) Morris of Kellogg; one daughter, Terri (Andy) Dannen of Newton; four grandhcildren, Amy (Steve) Wadstrom of Altoona, Ryan Dannen of Newton, and Gerald Morris and Skylar Morris, both of Kellogg; and one sister, Lois Ann (Robert) Loomis of Davis, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
