Helen M. Miller, 86, of rural Kellogg died Friday, Aug, 31, 2007, at her home in rural Kellogg.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Johnson of the Kellogg Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Kellogg Christian Church or the Wittemberg Church may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Art and Ellen (Lee) Stover, she was born Aug. 25, 1921, in Newton and was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. On Aug. 17, 1954, she married August Virgil Miller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She was a farmer’s wife and played organ for several churches. Helen was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church, and she loved nature, gardening and going to church. Helen was a great organist and loved raising cows and cooking.

Survivors include three sons, James Miller and Galen Miller, both of Newton, and Oliver Miller of Kellogg; one daughter, Mary Miller of Newton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, August Virgil Miller; brothers, Jim, Bill, Harry, David “Bunny” and Jack; and her sisters, Bobbie, Edith “Birdie”, Helen and Dorothy.
