Lucille V. Kinney, 95, passed away Aug. 27, 2007, at the Heritage Manor Health Care in Newton. The Pence-Reese Funeral Home of Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials to the Lucille Kinney Memorial Fund are suggested.

Lucille, the daughter of Segus and Ida Mae (Shaw) Theyerl, was born April 10, 1912, in Fond Du Lac, Wis. She had attended rural schools in Wisconsin and was a longtime resident of the Kellogg area since 1949.

On Jan. 29, 1949, Lucille was united in marriage with Charley J. Kinney in Newton. She had devoted her life to her husband, helping him on the farm and helping her family and friends. She was a member of the Kellogg American Legion Auxiliary. Lucille enjoyed reading, sewing and watching soap operas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charley on July 15, 1981; one son, Leonard; one daughter, Tola Mahoney; and one grandson, Lance.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in the veteran’s section at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. Family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home.

Those left to honor the memory of Lucille include her two sons, Lee (Joan) Talbert of Kellogg and David Talbert of Kenosha, Wis.; her 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and her many great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Talbert of Kenosha, Wis.; and her many other good neighbors and friends.
