DES MOINES — Marilyn Manning Kannenberg, 50, of Des Moines died Sept. 9, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Marilyn was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Newton to Fred and Connie (Vasquez) Manning. She attended Newton schools and on Nov. 18, 1975, she was united in marriage to Steve Kannenberg in Chicago. She enjoyed spending time with her large family, watching NASCAR racing and spoiling her two precious granddaughters. She was a loving, caring and devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; two sons, Michael (Judy) and Shawn (Jennifer) and their two daughters, Ashley and Hayley, all of Des Moines; seven brothers and sisters, Jesse Rodriquez of Des Moines, Betty (Ron) Joy of Ankeny, Jerry (Susan) Manning of Monroe, Donna (Lyle Lingenfelter) Manning-Eddy of Colfax and Art (Florence) Rodriquez, Carol (Jim) Bogart and Bonnie Burgart, all of Newton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Tonini Chapel, 2315 SW Ninth St. in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Peace Lutheran Church, 5615 SW 14th St., Des Moines, with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; one sister-in-law; and one nephew.
