MONROE — Lisa Marie Johnson, the daughter of Albert and Patricia Porter Alberto, was born Oct. 6, 1953, in Los Angeles, Calif. She grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended computer school.

Lisa was united in marriage with Delmar LeRoy Johnson Jr. at the Monroe Methodist Church on March 20, 1976. Lisa loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching movies, sitting on her deck, listening to music, playing with her dogs, dancing, crafts, jewelry and make-up.

Lisa died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was 54 years old.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother; and her grandparents, the Porters, Albertos, Johnsons and Farvers.

Those left to honor Lisa’s memory include her husband, Delmar Johnson Jr. of Monroe; one son, Gene (Laurie) Johnson of Waukee; her two grandchildren, Grant Johnson and Mackenzie Johnson; her father; her mother-in-law and step father-in-law, JoAnn (Keith) Datwyler of Peru; her father-in-law and step mother-in-law, Delmar Sr. (Karen) Johnson of Monroe; her special cousins, Gene and Shirley Buckley of Monroe; her dear friend, Darlene Seibert of Monroe; and several uncles and cousins.

Funeral services for Lisa will be Thursday at 10:30 am at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. today.

Memorials may be designated in Lisa’s name to the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing and may be left at Pence-Reese Funeral Home.
