KNOXVILLE — Aimee Rene Erickson, formerly Aimee Keltner, passed away at her home on Sept. 26, 2007.

Aimee was born Jan. 4, 1973, to Gerald and Deana (Williams) Erickson in Iowa City. Aimee attended school in Newton. She moved to Storm Lake and graduated in 1991 from Storm Lake High School. She graduated May 2004 from Des Moines Area Community College with a degree in nursing.

Aimee was proud of her son, Benjamin. Aimee’s love of life brought her many friends and admiration. She enjoyed shopping, decorating, bead and metal works, jewelry making and gardening. She worked at Knoxville Area Community Hospital during college and after graduation. She currently was working at Broadlawns Medical Center. She was a volunteer EMT on the Knoxville Fire Department.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Kenneth Erickson; great-grandmother Dorotha Cross; and maternal and paternal great-grandparents.

Aimee is survived by her son, Benjamin Phillips of Des Moines; her parents, Deana Williams of Newton and Gerald Erickson of Florida; two brothers, Jordan and Blake Williams; her maternal grandmother Darlene Williams; her Uncle Tim Williams and her cousin Aaron Williams, both of Grinnell; her grandmother, Mary Ann Bals and her husband Bud Bals, both of Fonda; her Aunt Linda Dedecker and her partner Mike Van Natta, both of Knoxville; her Uncle Ronnie Erickson and his partner Cindy Cory, both of Ames; and cousins, Justin Dedecker of Ames, Adrian Dedecker of New Jersey, and her uncle Jeffrey Dedecker.

Visitation of family and friends will be on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville.

The family requests donations to a scholarship fund for Aimee’s son, Benjamin Phillips, which has been established in lieu of flowers.
