Carol J. Deitrick, 67, of Newton died July 27, 2007, at the Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Werner and Marjorie (Baker) Flege, she was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Waverly. She worked at the Vernon Company for 21 years and Bank Iowa for the past 3 years.

She is survived by her husband, James W. ”Jim”; three daughters, Lori J. (Randy) Griffin of Kellogg, Lisa Carter and Jeni Wickliff, both of Newton; two sons, Bob (Cathy) Carter and Jim (Josie) Carter, all of Newton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Ingraham of Newton, several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
