MITCHELLVILLE — William D. “Bill” Brandhof, 77, of Mitchellville died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Friday, at 1:30 p.m. at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. Burial will follow at Waveland Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. Brandhof will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will greet friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Taylor Hospice House or the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church.

The son of John and Jennie (Van Maanen) Brandhof, Bill was born on Oct. 21, 1929, in Colfax. He graduated in 1948, from Mitchellville High School. On Dec. 21, 1954, he was united in marriage to Marie Van Soelen in Sully. Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bill farmed his entire life and enjoyed working in the yard. He was a member of the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 52 years, Marie of Mitchellville; three daughters, Marilyn Kay (Craig) McMullin of Idaho Springs, Colo., Sharon Elaine (Michael) King of Des Moines and Betty Lou (Larry) Hessing of Altoona. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Matthew Ryan McMullin, Megan Elizabeth McMullin, Mikaela Ashley King, Melissa Ann King and Jeffrey Thomas Hadden as well as a brother, Edward (Leona) Brandhof of Mitchellville.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents.
