Gauge W. Anderson, 9, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A public Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church, and following the service, the family will greet friends with a coffee time from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Newton.

Memorials in Gauge’s name may be left at the church or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Gauge, the son of Mike Anderson and Amber Desplanque, was born May 14, 1998, in Des Moines and was a lifelong resident of Newton. Gauge liked his T. J. Bearytales Bear, music and his healthcare nurses.

Survivors include his father, Mike Anderson and his fianc/e, Nikki Clark, both of Newton; his mother, Amber (and Joe) Griggs, both of Newton; his brother, Damon Ross of Newton; his grandma, Debbie Simmons of Newton; his grandpas, Bob Simmons and Bill Desplanque, both of Newton; his grandma and grandpa, Karen and Don Wahl of Newton; his grandpa and grandma, Larry and Joanne Anderson of Newton; his great-grandparents, Carolyn and Ronald Beal of Newton; and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Marion and Darlene McDaniel and his great uncle, Gerald Owen.
