Chester Krebs

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Memorial services for Chester Krebs, 89, of Sacramento, Calif., a former longtime resident of Colfax, will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax.

The Rev. John Mc Kinstry, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Memorials to the church will be accepted.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home is handling Colfax arrangements.

He died Thursday at Sacramento. Cremation followed death.

Survivors are his wife, Grace; two sons, Gordon of Sacramento, Calif., and Donald of Fairfield, Calif.; a daughter, Sheryl Milroy Krebs of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a daughter, Marilyn Schertz.

Mr. Krebs, who owned and operated an insurance business in Colfax for many years, was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church and Kiwanis Club and a former member of the Colfax Board of Education.

He was born Jun 22, 1901 in Dallas County and was a 1922 graduate of Colfax Community High School.

He was married to Grace Siefkas May 3, 1930 in Melbourne.

Mr. Krebs moved to Sacramento in 1988. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1990
