KELLOGG - Roy Morrison Schultz, 71, of Rt. 2, Box 297, Kellogg, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of heart failure.

Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

The Rev. Mike Johnson, pastor of the Kellogg Christian Church, will conduct services.

Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Clementene; a son, Roy C. of Belleville, Ill.; a granddaughter; and a brother, Rea Schultz of Kellogg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister in infancy and a brother, Vernon.

Mr. Schultz, a former farmer, had been a Newton Community School bus driver for 13 years.

The son of Ferdinand and Mae Morrison Schultz, he was born Sept. 23, 1919 in rural Kellogg on the farm where he was living at the time of his death. He was educated in Kellogg Community Schools.

He was married to Clementene Hawk Jan. 16, 1948 in Grand Rapids, Minn. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, August 1991
