NEW SHARON - Helen M. Brackney Simmons, 76, of New Sharon, mother of Patty (Mrs. Lewis) Mitchell of Newton, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

There are five other daughters, 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren surviving.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon.

The Rev. David Pinkerton, pastor of the New Sharon Friends Church, will conduct services and burial will be in Friends Cemetery in New Sharon.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be accepted. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, November 1990
