Charles W. Morgan

COLFAX - Charles W. Morgan, 85, a lifelong resident of Colfax, died Friday evening, Oct. 7, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Colfax Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Clayton Sugg, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Mc Keever Cemetery, north of Colfax.

Friends may call after noon today at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

Memorials to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Colfax Presbyterian Church will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Judy of West Des Moines; and two grandchildren, Kimberly and Kevin, both of West Des Moines.

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Mr. Morgan was a member of the Colfax Presbyterian Church.

The son of David and Grace Gagle Morgan, he was born June 26, 1909 at Colfax.

A 1928 graduate of Colfax Community High School, he attended the Des Moines University of Commerce.

He was married to Ruth Melberg Sept. 25, 1929 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua.

He farmed for many years in the Colfax area. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1994
