NEW SHARON, IA. - Carl W. Savage, 81, of New Sharon died of a heart ailment Saturday at Pella Community Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at New Sharon United Methodist Church, of which he was a member, with burial at Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville.

Mr. Savage was born in Russell and had lived in the New Sharon area most of his life. He had been a road worker for Mahaska County and Carter Construction in Oskaloosa before his retirement.

Survivors include his daughter, Darlene Richards of New Sharon; a stepdaughter, Marilyn Mitchell of Albia; a brother, Harry of Lynnville; a sister, Minnie Weir of Pleasantville; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Harden Funeral Home in Newt Sharon. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon Rescue Unit. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register November 1990
