Katherine Staub, 61, of Reasnor died of cancer Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Staub, a homemaker, was born in Schuyler County, Mo., and lived near Newton before moving to Reasnor in 1970.

She is survived by two sons, Loyd Jr. and Leroy, both of Newton; a daughter, Ann Thomas of Kellogg; a brother, Olen Miller of Kirksville, Mo.; a sister, Evelyn Baker of Plymouth, Ill.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call after noon today at Wallace-Pence funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register.

REASNOR - Funeral services for Katherine Miller Staub, 61, of Box 16, Reasnor, a resident of Reasnor since 1970, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home at Newton.

The Rev. Mike Johnson, pastor of the Christian Church in Kellogg, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today and visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials in her name will be accepted.

Survivors are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Loyd Jr. and Leroy and Sheila, all of Newton; a daughter, Ann Thomas of Kellogg; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Olen Miller of Kirksville, Mo.; and a sister, Evelyn (Mrs. Leslie) Baker of Plymouth, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Loyd, April 7, 1991, and two brothers, Wayne and Rufus Miller.

Mrs. Staub was a homemaker.

The daughter of Samuel and Julia Woods Miller, she was born Aug. 7, 1933 in Schuyler County, Mo., and was graduated from a Missouri high school.

She was married to Loyd S. Staub Aug. 16, 1952 in Downing, Mo.

Mrs. Staub, who lived on a farm north of Newton since the mid-1950 and a resident of Reasnor since 1970, moved to Reasnor in 1970. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1995
