PELLA - Funeral services for Tina L. Samson, 18, of Pella, a former Newton resident, who was killed in an automobile accident Monday, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at the Pella First Reformed church.

Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials to the Pella Community Day Care Center or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be accepted.

Visitation with the family will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Pella First Reformed Church.

PELLA - Funeral services for Tina LaVonne Samson, 18, 153 Brooke Circle, Pella, a former resident of Newton, were held today, July 7, at the Pella First Reformed Church.

The Rev. Kevin E. Korver, assisted by the Rev. Donald Orange, conducted services.

Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials to the Pella Community Day Care Center or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be accepted.

Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella was in charge of arrangements.

She died Monday of injuries sustained in an automobile accident north of Pella.

Survivors are her parents, Jim and Betty Samson; three sisters, Teresa Marie, Tamera Anne and Tiffani Cathryn; and two brothers, Jonathan Arthur and James Arthur, all of Pella.

Also surviving are her maternal grandparents, Robert and Lela Thompson Bennett, her paternal grandparents, Arthur and Kathryn Henken Samson, and a great-grandmother, Margaret Samson, all of Reasnor.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Timmy, and her great-grandfather, Andrew Samson.

She was born Dec. 26, 1975 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton and attended Aurora Heights Elementary School in Newton from kindergarten through the third grade.

The family then moved from Newton to Pella.

Miss Samson participated in marching band, was s football manager and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Pella Community High School. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1994
