GLENWOOD - Francis James Bisom, 51, of Glenwood, a resident of Jasper County until 1989, died of cancer Monday morning, Jan. 2, at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wallace-pence Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. Robert Shaw, pastor of the Newton United Pentecostal Church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.

Survivors are four brothers, Kenneth and Robert, both of Newton, Ted of Viola, Ill., and Earl of La Porte, Ind.; two sisters, Lucille (Mrs. Dean) Hundley of Newton and Helen Hall of Fremont, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond.

The son of Clarence H. and Lillie Mae Iske Bisom, he was born July 2, 1943 in Baxter and attended Beacon Light School, southeast of Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1995
