Adah Hick

Adah Hick, 103, of Nelson Manor Health Care Center, a former resident of rural Newton and Altoona, died Sunday morning, Oct. 27, at the Manor.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton Altoona Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rising Sun Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to the nelson Manor Health Care Center will be accepted.

Survivors are two daughters, Doris Miller of Newton and Betty Davis of Overland Park, Kan.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pirl, and two sons, Ronald and Allen.

Mr. and Mrs. Hick farmed until 1962 when they retired and moved to Altoona. Mrs. Hick moved to nelson Manor Health Care Center approximately four years ago. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1991
