TULSA, Okla. - Helen Stanton, 89, a former longtime resident of Newton, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, in Tulsa.

Private funeral services and burial were held in Tulsa.

Mrs. Stanton was the widow of Dr. Lucia Stanton, a dentist in Newton from 1926 to 1977.

Survivors are a son, Robert of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stanton was born Feb. 22, 1905 in Fairfield. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1995
