Adrian A. Lubberden

PELLA - Funeral services for Adrian A Lubberden, 89, of Pella, a resident of Monroe for approximately 20 years, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Van Dyke-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.

The Rev. Gary L. Smith, pastor of the Pella Baptist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Pleasantville Cemetery.

Mr. Lubberden died Tuesday at the Pella Community Hospital.

Survivors are a son, Wayne Carl, of Monroe; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Helen, in 1963, a sister and two brothers.

Mr. Lubberden was a World War I veteran.

The son of William H. and Minnie Schippers Lubberden, he was born July 29, 1900 in Pella and attended Pella public schools.

After his marriage to Margret Veenstra he resided in Pella and was Marion County deputy sheriff and state dignity fire marshal.

After his marriage to Helen Galvin, they resided near Pleasantville until her death in 1963.

Mr. Lubberden resided in Monroe, until 1984 when he moved to Hilltop Manor in Pella. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, May 1990
