Clarence A. Lowe

Clarence A. Lowe, of Embassy Manor Care Center, a resident of Newton for 18 years, died Friday, June 1, at the Embassy Manor.

Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hewitt Cemetery in rural Reasnor.

The Rev. George Cuff, pastor of the First Assembly of God, will conduct services.

Visitation with the family will be held from seven to 8 p.m. today at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Memorials in his name will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Ethel Lowe of Roundup, Mont.; a daughter Winifred Lockwood of Newton; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step- great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Doris L., September 1972, and two brothers, Horace and Leslie.

Mr. Lowe, a Navy veteran of World War I, had been employed at the Automatic Washing Machine Co. Maytag Co. and Denison and Partridge Co. and had farm east of Reasnor and in Nebraska.

The son of William and Martha Turley Lowe, he was born May 29, 1897 in Humphrey, Neb.

He was married to Ethel Harlan in Newton.

Mr. Lowe also had resided in Stuart, Iowa, Wyoming and Montana. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, June 1990
