Funeral services for Richard "Dick" Lindstrom, 60, of 407 N. 7th Ave. E., a resident of Newton for 26 years, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the First United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after noon today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials in his name may be left at the funeral home.

He died Monday morning at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of a heart attack.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy; two sons, James of Hartford and Mark of Newton; a daughter, Brenda Lindstrom of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lindstrom, a member of the First United Methodist Church and Newton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1655, had been a meat cutter at meat markets, including Stocktons, Easters and Super Valu.

The son of Carl and Lela Kibbe Lindstrom, he was born May 2, 1929 in Mount Ayr and was graduated from Mount Ayr community High School.

He was married to Nancy J. Nichols Aug. 31, 1968 in Des Moines. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1990
