Funeral services for Marjorie M. Anthony Lewis, 51, of 1800 S. 4th Ave. E., a longtime resident of Jasper County, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. George Cuff, pastor of the First Assembly of God, will conduct services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She died Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines of heart failure.

Survivors are two daughters, Candy Lorraine Lewis of Monroe and Sherry Lynn (Mrs. DeWayne) Stoner of Chariton; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three half-brothers, Michael Anthony of Gilman and Steven Anthony and Eugene Anthony, both of Newton; a sister, Luella Bylo of Franklin, Tenn.; a half-sister, Connie (Mrs. Kenneth) Reames of Newton; her foster mother, Florence Coffman of Newton; and her father and step-mother, Francis and Wanda Anthony of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Anthony Welch, May 1, 1965 and foster father, Jacob Coffman, Dec. 11, 1965.

Mrs. Lewis had been employed at Midwest Manufacturing Co. in Kellogg for 16 years, retiring in 1983.

The daughter of Francis L. and Ethel Mincer Anthony, she was born Oct. 13, 1939 in Iowa City and attended Newton Community High School. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, April 1991
