KELLOGG, IA. - Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell for Helen Lavent of Kellogg. Mrs. Lavent, 76, died Friday of a heart ailment at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Born in Iowa City, Mrs. Lavent lived in Brooklyn and Des Moines before moving to a farm near Kellogg in 1946. She had last worked at Pioneer Seed Corn Co. in Des Moines, and was a member of Marshalltown China Painting Circle.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha VanSickle of Mitchellville; a son, John of New York; a sister, Gladys Haase of Belle Plaine; and three brothers, Wallace Cleppe and Lloyd Cleppe, both of Brooklyn, and Larry Cleppe of Ames.
