Ted R. Lawler

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. - Funeral services for Ted. R. Lawler, 66, of Taylorvile, Ill., former resident of Newton, were held Monday, Feb. 18, at Connolly-Mc Clure Funeral Home in Taylorville.

Father Martin O'Hara conducted services and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville with military graveside rites.

Mr. Lawler, a former employee of the Badger Meter Co., of Milwaukee, Wis., died Feb. 14 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.

Survivors are his wife, June; a son, Tim of Dallas; two daughters, Connie (Mrs. Ron) Thunman of Carmel Valley Village, Calif., and Katie (Mrs. Jordan) Podeschi of Taylorville, Ill.; eight grandchildre; his step-mother, Lillian Lawler of Chicago, Ill.; and three sisters, Norma Sherrer of Peoria, Ill., Virginia Zeifert of Chicago, Ill., and Velma (Mrs. Morris) Hagler of Tullahoma, Ind.

Mr. Lawler was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville Army Air Corps Veterans of World War II, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose.

The son of Dewey and Mildred Sharrock Lawler, he was born Nov. 21, 1924 in Stonington, Ill.

He was married to June Brown Feb. 9, 1947 in Taylorville, Ill. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, February 1991
