BAXTER - Funeral services for Marjory Dawson Schroyer Lash, 70, of Baxter, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct 19, at the Newton Christian Church.

The Rev. Raymond Barnett, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Baxter.

Memorials may be left at Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lash died Tuesday evening at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Survivors are two sons, Thomas Schroyer and Chris Schroyer, both of Baxter; two daughters, Mary N. Versteegh of Killduff and Roberta "Bobbie" Schroyer of Newton; and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Glenn Dawson of Redding, Calif., and two sisters, Opal Taylor of Newton and Caroline Maxwell of Mingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Louis Schroyer and Arthur Lash, a grandson, brother and sister.

A dietician at Nelson Manor in Newton and Careage of Newton, she was a member of the Newton Christian Church.

The daughter of Thomas and Hazel Couch Dawson, she was born June 2, 1921 at Ira.

She was married to Louis Schroyer Aug. 8, 1939 at Baxter and, after his death in 1969, to Arthur Lash Sept. 7, 1975 at Baxter. Mrs. Lash died in 1985.

Raised and educated in Jasper County and a graduate of Mingo Community High School, she was, with the exception of four years in Ames, a life-long resident of Jasper County. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1991
