Funeral services for Diana Kay Durant Stevens, 27, of 1425 N. 11th Ave. E., a longtime resident of Newton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a. m. Wednesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She died of cardiac arrest Monday morning at Skiff Medical Center.

Survivors are two sons, James Arthur and Thomas Riley, both of Newton; her father, Gerald W. Durant of Newton; her mother, Delores Jean Durant of Newton; two brothers, Douglas Kent Durant and Daniel Brian Durant, both of Newton; a sister, Deborah Sue (Mrs. Michael) Collins of Kansas City, Mo.; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Steele of Wyaconda, Mo., and Helen E. Durant of Newton and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Martin J. Durant in 1963.

Mrs. Stevens, a homemaker, was a Camp Fire leader.

The daughter of Gerald W. and Delores Jean Steel Durant, she was born July 26, 1962 in Kirksville, Mo., and was a 1980 graduate of Newton Community High School. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1990
