Mary Sutton, 85, of Creston died of a heart ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Private burial will be at a later date in Newton.

Mrs. Sutton was born in Martin County, Minn., and had lived in Newton and Arizona before moving to Des Moines in 1975. She moved to Creston in 1985. She had owned and operated Mode O Day Clothing Store in Newton and had worked for Git N Go in Des Moines before retiring.

She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Dodd of New Port Richey, Fla., Marilyn Rivers of Thayer and Lila White of Creston; a sister, Betty Christiansen of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Merlo Hanke and Clifford Sutton.
