Donald W. Lundeen, 74, of 212 Mercy Park Apartments died Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center of a respiratory ailment following heart surgery. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery.
Mr. Lundeen was born in Colfax and moved to Des Moines in 1944. He was a retired locomotive engineer for the Rock Island Railroad and was a member of the Masonic Lodge; College Avenue Christian Church; and the Brotherhood of Locomotive, Firemen and Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, Cadijah; three sons, Don, George and Bob, all of Des Moines; four daughters, Karen Penszky of Plano, Texas, and JoAnna Nisser, Debbie Babowitch and Kim Scavo, all of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Amanda the Panda. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, February 1990
