Ruby M. Wright

Ruby Margaret Robison Wright, 78, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Sunday, June 13, at 500 1st St. N.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.

The Rev. Frederick Kramer, Skiff Medical Center chaplain, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Friends may call after noon Tuesday at the funeral home and visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County will be accepted.

Survivors are a son, Larry De Moss of Altoona; two daughters, Delores Deitrick and Judy (Mrs. Elmer) Modlin, both of Newton; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Powell of Pleasantville.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronald, and a brother, Bob Robison.

Mrs. Wright was a member of the United Auto Workers, Local 997, Retirees Union.

She worked at the Maytag Co. for 30 years before her retirement in 1975.

She also taught rural schools.

The daughter of Bert and Ethel Gay Roberts Robison, she was born Aug. 14, 1914 in rural Monroe. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, June 1993
